In June of 2024, Cameron Corporation founder Javaid (Jerry) Naqvi was honoured with the prestigious Order of Canada. Mr. Naqvi is recognized not only for his commitment to the development and real estate industries but also for his continued support of many impactful charities in our community. He is one of only two Edmonton appointees receiving the Order of Canada this year.
Among the over 40 charities and non-profit organizations to which he lends his support are Autism Edmonton, Edmonton Newcomer Society, United Way, Edmonton Food Bank, and 630 CHED Santa’s Anonymous. He is an ardent supporter of causes such as education, newcomers to Canada, interfaith dialogue, and individuals living with autism.

The Order of Canada is a prestigious award presented by the governor general that recognizes individuals who have made lasting impacts on their communities here in Canada. The Order was created in 1967, Canada’s centennial year.
About Javaid (Jerry) Naqvi:
Mr. Naqvi arrived in Canada from Pakistan in 1964 with an engineering scholarship. In 1973, he became Vice President, Development at Allarco Developments Ltd. under the tutelage of Dr. Charles Allard before venturing out on his own in 1980, when he founded what has now become Cameron Development Corporation. He currently oversees Cameron Development Corporation as Chairman.
